Medications that may be used by Dr. Costrini for this purpose are Versed, Fentanyl, Demerol, or Valium.

Our facility is contracted with most insurance carriers including: Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna and many more. Our staff will confirm network participation at the time of scheduling, or you may call our business office with questions 912-355-7875.

 Endoscopic Procedures

The development of endoscopy or the ability to "see inside" was one of the most important scientific advances of our century. Before this technology was designed, physicians could only wonder and guess what was happening deep inside the GI tract and x-rays often gave incomplete information. However, now after years of discovery and improvements, the entire upper and lower GI tract can be illuminated bright as daylight. No longer can disease lurk in hidden places causing problems. We are pleased to be able to offer these reassuring procedures to our patients.

OTHER PROCEDURES

At the Georgia Center for Digestive Diseases we are fully equipped to offer thorough examinations of both the upper and lower tracts, including Colonoscopy, Upper Intestinal Endoscopy, and Flexible Sigmoidoscopy. In addition to investigating the GI tract, Dr. Costrini can actually treat some of the abnormalities that may be found. Esophageal Dilitation (gentle stretching of the esophagus) and Polypectomy (removal of small growths or polyps) are often performed in our Center as necessary.

It is our goal to make this experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible by helping you to know exactly what to expect and supporting you throughout the procedure. You may also view a video of an actual endoscopy by clicking here.

 Referring Physicians

It is our goal to assist you and your patients with their Gastrointestinal care in a timely and efficient manner. We are dedicated to providing expert services along with rapid availability for your patients. We accept all insurances including Medicare and Medicaid.

Your time is valuable and because of this we have streamlined the referral process and taken over all the responsibility of precertification, patient education, and preparation. We recommend that all patients be referred for an initial office visit before a procedure with the exception of patients being sent only for a screening Flexible Sigmoidoscopy.

TEST RESULTS AND PRECERTIFICATION

Because we know that receiving lab and other test results as soon as possible is important to you, we notify all patients of this important information in a timely manner. If your physician recommends tests or procedures we take the responsibility of precertifying with your insurance carrier.

ENDOSCOPIC EQUIPMENT

The modern endoscopic equipment has made examination and treatment of the GI tract comfortable, safe, and helpful to both patients and physicians. The slender scope allows the physician to see the GI tract in true-to-life color, and conditions can often be diagnosed and treated without the need for surgery.
